Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is your Bridal Make-Up so Affordable?
A: Red Nelly strongly believes that just because you are getting married, you don't have to pay a small fortune for your wedding make-up.

Q: Why do I need a patch test for eyelash and eyebrow treatments?
A: You require a patch test for all eyelash and eyebrow tints, because you may be allergic to an ingredient. You may not know you have an allergic reaction until it is too late.

Q: How can I get stronger nails?
A: The best way to get stronger nails, is to stop biting your nails, and put moisturiser on your nails on a daily basis. Getting regular manicures will also help strengthen your nails.

Q: How do I stop my nails from breaking?
A: The best way for your nails to stop breaking is to have them at a short to medium length. But if you do have long nails and you wish to keep them, try to protect them. E.g. Wear gloves when washing up, do not perform any twisting actions with them or grabbing actions as these could break your nails.

Q: My Foundation does not match the rest of my skin tone, why?
A: The best way for your foundation to match in with your skin tones, is when you are buying a new foundation, try three different shades closest to your skin colour. And run a strip of each colour down the side of your face to your neck. Wait a couple of minutes and the one that blends in best with your neck colour is the foundation for you. Natural light is the best.

Q: Is there a certain order of applying make-up that should be followed?
A: Yes, there is a certain order when applying make-up.  The basic order for simple day wear is

Step 1 - Face Preparation
Cleanse, tone, moisturise.

Step 2 - Concealer
This aspect of make-up application helps to correct discolouration and/or highlight recessed areas on the face.

Step 3 - Foundation
Foundation applied correctly can help accomplish several things:
·         Coverage
·         Colour
·         Protection
·         A radiant glow
·         A perfect finish

Step 4 - Powder
Powder can be used to tint, tone and highlight the face according to the shade you select. The choice of neutral powder does not change the colour, yet it absorbs excess shine on the face.

Step 5 - Eye Shadow
Dramatic, soft, shimmery, smoky or natural eyes can all be achieved by expertly chosen colour and careful placement of eye shadow.
